Solomon's Seal Root - Handcrafted Tincture & Salve
Solomon's Seal Root - Handcrafted Tincture & Salve
Perhaps the most beautiful and personal extracts I’ve offered thus far in my herbalist career, this Solomon’s Seal root tincture and accompanying salve were formulated specifically by me, for me. As a woman diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, I have integrated many different anti-inflammatory herbs for joint health into my self-care routine, including Solomon’s Seal. The Modern Herbal Dispensatory (Horne & Easley, 2016) names Solomon’s Seal root a “specific for healing and repairing any connective tissue,” especially helpful in cases of rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis where joints feels sore or painful.
This offering is for one Solomon’s Seal root tincture, one Solomon’s Seal root salve, or one of each. This special tincture is an absolute joy to use, crafted with the highest quality (and best tasting) grape brandy available. The salve is lovely too—warm yellow beeswax from local Samara Acres in Poland, Indiana melts easily into the skin, working Solomon’s Seal magic. It leaves behind an all-natural Lavender scent, a relaxing nervine in her own right.
Use these offerings separately or, like me, integrate them both into your herbal self-care.
To use tincture: Take 10 drops by mouth one to three times a day. 60 doses (10 drops) per bottle.
To use salve: Thoroughly massage salve into affected joints as needed. Massage makes the magic happen!
Herbs in this offering were grown with intention by Meeting House Farm, a certified organic herb farm and herb growers collaborative in Scarborough, Maine.
Tincture ingredients: Organic Solomon’s seal ( Polygonatum spp.) root, grape brandy.
Salve ingredients: Organic Solomon’s seal ( Polygonatum spp.) root, organic extra virgin olive oil, raw beeswax from local farm Samara Acres, organic lavender essential oil.
Tincture is approximately 1 oz, bottled in amber glass with dropper lid and hand-labeled.
Salve is approximately 1 oz, poured into a sunny yellow metal tin and hand-labeled.
Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. As always, do your own research on this plant or consult with an herbalist or functional medicine physician before use.
